We Were Astronauts

Music City

Joel Frieders | September 2, 2014

I know nothing about WeWereAstronauts.

Bro, I only know what I know bro, and what I know bro has nothing to do with WeWereAstronauts bro.

Welp, I should mention that lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night with a need to look out the front winder and when I do get up to look out I've seen the same big black bird sitting on my car staring at the winder I'm staring out of.

It's all very Crow bro.

But I DO know that the first time I heard the new EXCLUSIVE SINGLE from WeWereAstronauts titled Music City was the LAST TIME I knew nothing about WeWereAstronauts bro.

Music City starts out like an Alabama Shakes tap takeover, but once you burp a few times it starts to sound like the Kings of Leon. But the guitar work tells you these guys are a bit more creative in the areas behind the adorable vocals department because sounding that effortlessly intricate is probably a bit too much for Top 40 radio to handle right meow.

WeWereAstronauts borrow from all of the things that indie success has sounded like over the past few years, and that guitar work I just mentioned, I think it's a shoutout to Freddy Jones Band and my college pot smoking habits.

With vocals as yearning and desperate as they've made them sound, I think we're all in for a swift dick of some Boston borne bromance courtesy of WeWereAstronauts in the very near future because this shit SCREAMS radioplay. Thankfully it also sounds genuine, so these fuckers might be another one of those bands that I fist pump when I hears em playing over the loudspeaker while I'm getting my oil changed (not code).

PLAY THIS, SHARE THIS, SLOWLY PLAY AIRGUITAR AND MOUTH THE VOCALS TO THIS. BECAUSE THIS.

And then prepare for the Artificial Light EP dropping sometime in the soon days that are soon coming to us soon.
