I wasn't alive during the 60s so I when I say something is reminiscent of this era it's usually a loose interpretation of what I perceived the 60s to be like. And these perceptions are primarily formed through movies, TV shows, music, books and the vintage Playboy magazines I discovered in my friends' basements.

So when I say that Calibro 35's music reminds me of a car chase or one of those cheesy scenes in a 60's era surf movie where all the actors on set spontaneously start a choreographed dance on the beach, I probably gathered those mental images from a spoof in Family Guy and/or Austin Powers. Or when I say that I want to listen to this album while shaking up a delicious Cape Coder in my Terry cloth robe it was because I learned that was a common practice amongst 1960's males from 1966 centerfold Bonnie Bushy Bushenstien.

And as short-sided as those description seem; in a way, this is what Calibro 35 has set out to do. According to their bio they create soundtrack music inspired from retro Italian films. The result is something that is so genuine and abnormaly satisfying that you'll want to dip your balls in slightly cooled fondue cheese, wrap them in prosciutto, and quietly prance around like the Pink Panther.

But most importantly this shit is fresh. It's completely unique and way outside the norm of what I listen to today. That said (I know what you are thinking), it's not avant garde or weird. Traditori di Tutti is full of listener friendly and insanely addictive instrumentals. Its' a perfect album to have on in the background while you are primping your chest hair, refilling your bottles of cologne, or changing the brake pads on your Fiat. The funk is felt in your soul, the jazz possesses a tapping your foot, and the fucking organ screams.

When listening to Calibro 35 you can feel the sun warm your skin and wind blowing through your hair even though you are inside, daydreaming of an adventure you will never experience. The music in itself is fiction drzzled in a fine Italian liquer and it oozes into your blood.

Go grab the album now. You need this to play at your next dinner party. Use it to help create a self perpetuated aura of international intrigue and culture. This way it won't come as surprise to your guests when you ask them to throw their keys into an empty fish bowl at the end of the night.
