I hate the dead of winter. Not only because it's fucking cold, but because there is pretty much a halt in new music releases from after Thanksgiving to about mid-January.
Soooooo, below you'll find my SYFFAList for December and January. It includes a lot of shit I missed out on in 2015, but discovered through some other random best of 2015 list. it's better to be late for the game than to not show up at all.
Diane Coffee - Green: I'm so moist for this song and I can't shake it. I'm not sure why I never I came across Diane Coffee considering that he is in Foxygen, but everything about this track is so right and so beautiful......and so creepy.
Wussy - Teenage Wasteland: I declare that this is the first track I slept on last year - I came across it 2 days after I published my 10 favorite songs of 2014. And I can confidentially say it would have made my top 3. EASY.
The Cave Singers - Distant Sures: I just started watching Transparent and couldn't get over the songs used in the series. This was one of them. The introduction of the strings in the chorus drops my fucking stomach and dries my mouf.
Sarah Bethe Nelson - Paying: This chick's throat hole is most likely coated in velvet or some other soft and silky fabric. I need to find out though, because I'm going to use said fabric to create some boxer briefs. And then I'll do squats in them all day long.
Jen Wood - Fell In Love: I usually am not a fan of this type of sound, but for some reason this song gets me.
Mikal Cronin - Made Up My Mind: WOOOOoooooooOOOOOOoooo. NEW MIKAL CRONIN. Whatever this asshole releases I'm pretty sure that I will love it.
Breakfast In Fur - Portrait: Youth Lagoon meets School Of Seven Bells meets leaves swirling in the wind. So breezy.
Brock Berrigan - Four Walls and an Amplifier: Soooooo, I've been working on the dance that I'm going to audition for 'So You Think You Can Dance?' it's combo of popping, contorting and the robot. I think I'm going to use this track. Videos to come soon.
Luluc - Tangled Heart: Luluc is a band that I swear I've written about in the past, but never actually did. Be patient with this track and allow it into an explosion of harmonies and horns.
Amber Run - Pilot: These fucking blokes are the bangers on top of the mash. They encompass all the sounds I love from UK bands.
