I got a lot to catch up on and the first thing I want to tell you I’m fucking dying for the video for “Phoenix” feat. Roxiny and Tunde Adebimpe from the soundtrack god of Rubble Kings, Little Shalimar. Rubble Kings is a documentary about late-70s. post-60s crumbling New York and the birth pains of hip hop. Little Shalimar did the musics.

This video is from like six months ago but I don’t give a shit because it feels like summer! It is time to breathe in its fire into my loins. Breathe it back, moist and alive from body heat and sticky skin! Time to open a fucking fire hydrant!

Except that I live in Los Angeles and I’m pretty sure it’s a felony.

The whole soundtrack to Rubble Kings is like a time warp where you get to take your technology with you to really twist up the past and make it sounds like it comes from the future! Little Shalimar is like a time traveler with one nut in a 1970s NYC blackout trash can fire and one nut in a 2070s NYC blackout trash can fire!

I love everything about all of this!
