At this point, if you have been reading Syffal for any amount of time, you've figured out how chubbed up we STAY for anything new from brother Ceschi Ramos. Like how we've turned down advertisers wanting to sell y'all new snazzy sneaks in favor of a sleek, mostly ad-free experience centered on taint jokes and Tom's chin, Ceschi is a DIY god-person-man-homie and proprietor of the independent as fuck, Fake Four, Inc.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, welcome to Syffal. Take off your compression undershirt and stay awhile.
"This Won't Last Forever" is from Ceschi's latest record Broken Bone Ballads. That record, Ceschi's first since The One Man Band Broke Up, and is produced to perfection by Canadian beat beast and Dapper Dan spokesmodel, Factor Chandelier.
The video finds Ceschi face-up in the bottom of a waste bin. One more crumbled idea discarded in frustration from an old-timey type writer? A soiled napkin? A swish from office waste-bin basketball all star? Toe nail clippings? All that! Ceschi is creating from the bottom and, well, he's mostly still there. But he's letting us know. Calling it out play for play. Painting pictures for the peeps who don't regularly ride the waste-bin waves, surfing on soul-crushing self-doubt and sanity-testing tides.
Ceschi is one of those artists that I'm happy is alive and making music. He's the kind of artist you turn to when things get dark. He's the type of artist you turn to when events turn tragic. Somehow...his shoulders and heart and voice and presence make some of this fucked up shit better...somehow. Thanks, homie!
Love, B
