I know a lot of my friends don't understand Grimes. But I also know that the friends of mine that love the fuck out of her love her because she isn't making excuses for the shit she comes up with. I, for one, love the fact that she's a fucking video game character that's consistently animated, like the movie Cool World back when I was just learning how to drive my sexuality.

Grimes makes me feel things that only an animated Kim Basinger makes me feel. My loins ache out of curiousity, but my head bangs because the fucking songs are forcing me to bounce off the three available flat surfaces I can reach (ceiling excluded bro). She's like one of the Gorillaz cartoons come to life, but with vampire teeth, and an insatiable hunger for subterranean locales and fluorescent clothing.

In the video for "Kill V. Maim", we see the blood covered energy we all knew Grimes was capable of, but I think what this video tells me is that I'm completely right for being intrigued by her, but I think the coming years are going to be fucking fun for those of us who appreciate her antics and imagination.
