Shut up.
I know we are two weeks late for the unveiling of our 'Best of Q2' lists, but we have been going through big changes here are Syffal: we had to transition the site to another server and our fearless leader, Tammy Baker, has gone into retirement....until he realizes he misses us too much and comes back. BUT right now he is enjoying short walks on his lunch break to prevent the inflammation in his hips from acting up.
The rest of the staff are all well and good though:
Without further adieu, here are our favorite albums of 2014's second quarter....
This one crept up on me like a six-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonades after my initial wobbly impression.
Excluding the god Mike Eagle, no song got bumped more in my car than "RETURN THE FIRE".
These guys nailed it with their official debut. Loving on it hard
I hope this is the future of hip hop. I believe it is.
Eric Benet ain't shit and Open Mike Eagle is eating up Culture Vultures like "Food Chain" Finn the Bird.
This triumvirate of trenchant trumpets trounces trends and toys in ten, tight tracks.
The trinity that's stuck in my gut for the past annum emerge again to sad-up Summertime.
This album is sunshine and fluffer nutter sammiches, HAHAHA part 1 and 2 is the best shit ever ever ever.
Seriously, it was nice knowing these fuckers before they went all Bollywood. We will never see them again they're so balls awesomes.
This album came at the best and worst time. It reminded me of when Tim and I first started SYFFAL, right before he left.
Do I really need to say anything more about PHOX? My hand is tired from writing about them...I'm just going to let my earz enjoy the epicness of this album.
This dude just sweats talent. K wipes off more talent in a single swipe of his brow than we secrete in a lifetime.
I was so fucking hot on this album when it dropped....and although I've come back down to Earf these last couple if weeks, 'In Cold Blood' is still ballz solid.
