Britta Phillips - Drive (Cars Cover): I have a theory. If you fuck up a cover of 'Drive' you need to hang up your wet long johns. It's one of the few songs that allows itself to be covered and 98.4% of the time will sound awesome.
Japanese Breakfast - In Heaven: If this sounds like a song Del would recommend it is because he did. It's a perfect combo of dreaminess, 90's alt rock and corniness. Yet, I love it. P.S. This album comes out on Friday but you can stream it right now on Hype Machine.

Fake Laugh - Mind Tricks: I immediately fell for these harry assholes in flannel PJs because they sounded like two bands I love: The Californian and Caveman. (If you like like this track and haven't heard of the fore-mentioned bands...You MUST check out them out.) What all 3 bands have in common is a unbelievable singer who sings very melodic lines that tingle your clammed choder.
Exmagician - Job Done: Begin scene: Exmagician is recording this track in the studio. A pizza guy with poor posture and long hair that hasn't been washed in 4 days delivers a pizza to the sound booth, trips over a wire and while putting his hands out to catch himself slides all the levels on the mixing board up 5 notches. The sound nerds look at each other, nod and give a thumbs up. End scene. The sound is YUGE.....like Mikal Cronin on HGH.
Palace Winter - Positron: I think I've heard enough of Palace Winter's songs to know that the end of a song will not sound like the beginning, yet, I'm still surprised and tickled when this happens.
Dam Gila - Face The Sun: Dam Gila is a project from Adam Gil of YAWN and the name of his patented sex move is called 'Instant Oatmeal'. True Story. Anyhoo, his sound transitions from sounding exactly like Animal Collective and Vampire Weekend (his words...not mine) to a sound that is a little more poppy, a little brighter and a little less experimental. The result is incendiary. F'REALDOE, I'm not sure how anybody can listen to this track and not like it.
