Best Albums of 2015

2nd Quarter

Staff | June 30, 2015

I dare anyone to say the second quarter of 2015 doesn't have huge luscious music balls dangling down against their forehead bro. As much as Top 40 radio wants us to believe there are only four songs available for your listening pleasure, WE ASSURE YOU BROS, THERE IS MUCH MUCH MORE.

Take our recommendations for instance, they're 70% less fat and 40% more inspiring than the commercial blend of sass you hear in the bathrooms at Walmart.

If you don't agree with our pics, please to call yer ma bro, cause this isn't just a dicktatershit, this is a syffalocracy bros.

Tom Doz

MCIII

The best liquor finds a way to go down your mouth hole with little effort. Parallel-ly, Mikal Cronin songs slip into your ear holes with the littlest of effort. #parallel-ly

I don't know how to explain this album. BUT KNOW that the unexplainable shit is always the best shit and I can't explainz why it's this way.

Banditos

Yes, I love Banditos, BUT this third spot was a virtual tie. Thus, I'm taking the space to give shout outs to Lord Huron and Tallest Man On Earth too.

Joel Frieders

In Colour

Perhaps the strangest electronic album I've ever been completely addicted to listening to, where when I finally get to listen, I appreciate not paying attention to. So balls.

Strange Trails

This is the perfect summer storm album, and I've whipped it out when I'm half crocked and fully sober, and it's equally as comforting. Although being half crocked is so much more fun.

Portrait

This is my favorite album of the summer so far. The creepy balls samples and comfortable ass beats have hypnotized me in ways still illegal in Indiana. Right Tom?

Brandon Backhaus

Devoted

I want to sing Terra Lopez's name from the Sierra Nevada mountain tops. Devoted hasn't left my speakers' cold copper veins since I first injected them with our heroine.

Plain Speaking

Nobody. I repeat. Nobody does what Milo does when Milo does what Milo does and at this point Milo does whatever Milo does because that's what a Milo would do. Dude is like the Dan Harmon of independent rap music.

The Good Fight

Heart:.There are a lot of words to describe Oddisee as an artist and The Good Fight as a record. Talented. Soulful. Precise. Intelligent. But I keep returning to the heart of the matter.

Johnny Symmes

Anchor

I lost myself and found myself in this album. Eat a steak and drink a glass of bourbon while appreciating this record.

Strange Trails

This record makes me want a faster car that I can go drive hard through a mountain canyon while blasting the shit out of this. I need a sporty convertible or something. Maybe I'll rent one so I can do that.
