I needed some biting social criticism in the form of humor and LA rapper dumbfoundead just came through. This video is a couple of months old, so hate me for having a life and not getting to it right away, but sometimes life has a way of sending you some shit just when you need it. I've never listened to Midnight To Monaco. At least as far as I can tell, I've never listened to MTM.  But holy shit this song has me Saturday night driving like a motherfucker. That's when you put your grip all hard on the top of the wheel and tuck your chin in towards your shoulder and look around all suspiciously. Try it. I'll wait. SEE? DOESN'T THIS SONG JUST SCREAM SUSPICIOUS DRIVING BRO? Fucking love it.  "One In A Million" is the fucking chillyjam, and the video is six out of five boners. 

After all the shit that went down recently, I was in dire need of some innocence, some childhood memories wrapped in humor and simplicity. Rap isn’t usually the place to find that. Luckily the world has one, Aesop Rock.  His record The Impossible Kid is like Milo went to college, then dropped out, decided to just make art, got good at it, then got older and moved to the middle of nowhere to keep at it. I think Aesop Rock is doing his best to end up like Lucy. Damn, I feel good!  Curtiss King does too!  This song is a fucking celebration. After bad news after bad news after bad news! It so good to hear the truth! “I promise I respect you for that!”  This is Mr. King’s “Make You Feel That Way,” and fuck if I didn’t need a new “Make You Feel That Way!” This is the kind of song I can put on repeat with the windows down and a giant creeper smile on my face as I roll down Fig like, what’s the fucking problem?  There ARE problems. Having seen this band live, and drooling over their previous albums like a fucking fiend, I consider myself my own TNAF expert. Do I like this song? Do I like the current direction of The Naked And Famous? Fuck yes I do. "Higher" continues the saga of blissfully pained and romantic glam made by amazingly beautifully people, and I fucking love it. 

Today, even more than yesterday, we need some fucking "Snacks" action. I'd settle for a fucking nibble of something this joyful.  I love Falside. I love Nic Heller. I love how two of my friends who I have never met in person continue to inspire me like this inspires me.  People, people, people, fuck death. Let's fucking dance. 

This sounds like Moderat in khakis right?  While I kind of needed a song to allow me a perfect accompanying soundtrack to break things (I'm having a day), I fucking adore how crisp and well put together Balcony sound on "Satisfied". The instrumentation is patient and doesn't get ahead of the direction of the vocal, it's poppy without being plastic, and dude, there's a lot of skin in this video without it being pornographic. I love subtle sexuality so much more than blatant ass and titties. I'm the guy who goes NUTS when his wife wears a tank top and panties around the house. While I always prefer her in the buff, there's something so unbelievably sexy about a woman leaving a few important things to the imagination.  Speaking of imagination, I would look fucking AMAZING in a white...

So I'm a Balthazar fanboy. Like, HARD.  My favorite dude is the dude that sounds drunk, super European, and super drunk European. If I had to pick someone to hang out with for 72 hours straight with an unlimited booze budget, it'd be with this dude. Every song he creates sounds cinematic. Every word he sing-speaks sounds like poetry. Every step he takes is a cool motherfucking saunter. Warhaus's "The Good Lie" is yet another example of how being cool to start with makes your music fucking cool.  I can't wait to hear the rest of the album. What's the album titled?  WE FUCKED A FLAME INTO BEING. It comes out September 2nd, 2016, and I will be squealing.  THERE WILL BE SQUEALS. 

This is one of the best music videos I've ever fucking seen.  Jesus balls on a rebellious 15 year old white male with a handful of loosies and a four pack of Bartyles & James, this kinda punched me in the throat.  Funeral Suits craft that high energy electro that makes me wanna wear silver pants and super white hitops and kick around on stage ike a suburban electronic version of Coldplay on amphetamines. That's no fucking dis, I love how triumphant the whole thing seems, while being simultaneously the saddest song I've ever equated to losing one's childish sense of wonder. Best part of "The Way Back" is my brief summation of this awesome video: don't burn your teddy bear bro. Sigur Rós changed me over a decade ago. I can still taste the Camel Lights on that porch in Long Beach, waiting for the sun to come up. I simply stopped assuming I knew.  Because of that simple personal observation, I don't look at things like I used to. Just because something looks like something now, doesn't actually mean I actually understand it. And if I don't understand it, I can't pass judgement on it. One thing I don't do anymore is assume I know what someone's going through just because they act a certain way that causes me to react in a certain way. Take the star of this video for example. It looks like she's bringing a lot or most of these multiple causes of pain on herself. Hell, she might just be hellbent on self desctruction.  But here's two truths you may or may not agree...
