There are a few things I can tell from listening to Chvrches lead single, Leave a Trace, off of their upcoming new album, Every Open Eye (out on September 25th): There will be no sophomore slump! Late last week, I wrote up beat-queen Linafornia's new track, "brownies". But what I didn't know what that Linafornia curates visuals for each new track she hits us over the head with. These little animated doodads are the result of, "Too much adult swim." Her words. Express Fresh is a compact bundle of rhyme combos like the character you'd select if all of this was a video game (and I'm not 100% sure that it is not anyways). I feel like Express is 2015% fucking slept on! I've seen these dude fucking murk every face in attendance. People left mouths agape at this power packet of pungent prowess. On "Napoleon Rhynomite", Express Fresh seems unconcerned with bringing you up to speed, instead launching into a graduate level lesson on rap strategies like he changed his name to Profess Fresh! Express is also father, a poet, and a Derek Fisher stunt double.  Out of Los Angeles, and putting out his music on Acid Lab Records, Express Fresh just released a full-length project called God is Gracious, a highly personal rap record named after his son. 

This is the Trails and Ways song I love the most. "Skeletons" is cute, whimsical, and I don't feel weird for always shucking my fucking clothes off when the first chorus hits. Of course, I have been known to undress during Metallica songs and AM radio newscasts, so this isn't unexpected behavior bro. OOOOOOOH WEEEEE! (THERE GOES ME DRAWLS!) This video is a beautiful car crash to watch, literally. It feels like my life right now. Just being pushed, after so much shit has happened to you and wondering how much you can actually endure. All while descending into the fiery pits of Hell. The song is just hitting me in the feels as well. It's dark and angry. The bass is balltickle low. His singing is distressed. I love this guy's falsettos. I'm turning into a huge The Weeknd fan thanks to my hip wife.  If you watch this or listen to this in your car with the sub woofer flexing, there's no way to not be hypnotized.
